Young Peacemakers Organization was founded to give children in Kumba the tools to heal, empathize, and lead — starting in the classroom and reaching all the way to the community.

To nurture children aged 3 to 13 into proactive everyday peacemakers by providing psycho-social rehabilitation for children suffering from trauma caused by societal conflicts and misfortune, while embedding lifelong habits of empathy, emotional regulation, and conflict resolution into their early childhood development for a better society tomorrow.

Raising a Generation That Leads the World Through Peace

By the year 2050, the Young Peacemakers Organization envisions the emergence of a generation of young people who, having been intentionally nurtured through the YPO Peace Development Framework from early childhood, will lead positive societal transformation. This generation will be distinguished by empathy, integrity, emotional intelligence, responsible citizenship, servant leadership, and an unwavering commitment to peaceful coexistence.

They will become teachers, parents, community leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and global citizens who resolve conflicts through dialogue, promote justice, strengthen social cohesion, and inspire hope within their communities.

Our Approach

How We Train Teachers

Pedagogical Peace Frameworks

Equipping nursery and primary school educators with specialized methodologies to integrate conflict-resolution language directly into everyday teaching, arts, and play.

Restorative Classroom Management

Moving teachers away from punitive discipline and toward active, school-based "peace corners" where children can self-regulate and safely resolve peer disputes.

Trauma-Informed Rehabilitation

Helping teachers spot early signs of trauma, anxiety, or behavioral aggression, using grounding exercises and healing-centered care before negative patterns take hold.

A Legally Recognized Association

Young Peacemakers Organization is a non-profit association governed by Cameroon Law No. 90/053 of 19 December 1990 relating to freedom of association, and is pursuing approval under Law No. 99/014 governing Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs). The organization's headquarters is permanently fixed in Kumba, Meme Division, South West Region, Republic of Cameroon.

All funds are strictly non-distributable and are used solely to achieve the organization's goals. Bank withdrawals require the mandatory joint signatures of the President and the Treasurer, ensuring full financial accountability.
